Post Dental Implant Surgery

Post Dental Implant Surgery

After dental implant surgery, it is recommended that you rest for 48-72 hours to help with the healing process and limit bleeding. You should also drink plenty of room temperature fluids and avoid anything too hot or too cold.

To help with swelling, you can apply an ice pack to your face in 20-minute intervals for 2 days following surgery. Do not blow your nose for two weeks if you have received upper implants. You may experience slight bleeding and discomfort as well as an increase in temperature for the two days following surgery. These symptoms should subside during the third day. Lastly, it is okay to eat but do not chew directly onto the site of the bone graft.
